Leeds United transfer rumours: Rodrigo De Paul offer, Riqui Puig eyed, Yunus Musah contract

We are a little over a month away from the start of the January transfer window.

It means Leeds United have a chance to freshen up their squad mid-season and complete any deals they failed to get over the line in the summer transfer market.

The Whites continue to be linked with a host of players ahead of the January market - with that in mind, here are the latest Leeds United transfer rumours.

Juventus close in on De Paul

JuveLive report that Juventus are closing in on Rodrigo De Paul - but that Leeds came closest to signing the Udinese star in the summer.

The Whites were keen on De Paul over the summer and are now said to have been close on securing a €30m for his services.

Yet they were unable to reach a deal with Udinese and the midfielder stayed put.

Should Leeds still want the Argentine, they look set to face more competition, with Juve said to be close on a €35m for him.

Puig linked

Spanish outlet Sport claim that Leeds are exploring the possibility of taking Barcelona starlet Riqui Puig on loan in January.

The 21-year-old has featured just twice for Ronald Koeman's side this season, playing just 25 minutes of La Liga football.

Koeman does not consider the midfielder to be in his plans, which means the Spanish under-21 international could well leave Camp Nou in January.

Puig's agent is said to have been in contact with the Elland Road hierarchy over a potential move to Leeds, with Marcelo Bielsa reportedly a big fan of his style of play.

The Whites face competition from RB Leipzig, Real Betis and Monaco for his services, though.

Musah contract

AS report that Valencia are preparing to offer Yunus Musah a five-year contract in order to dissuade interest from a number of Premier League clubs including Leeds.

La Liga's latest breakthrough star - an England youth international before switching to the USA at senior level - has been compared to Paul Pogba and has thrived in Valencia's midfield following the departure of Dani Parejo and Francois Coquelin.

It has led to reported interest from Arsenal, Everton and the Whites, but Valencia are said to be readying a big new contract to keep the 17-year-old.
