Leeds United transfer rumours: Rodrigo De Paul and Divock Origi blows, Daniel James claim made

Leeds United returned to winning ways in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon, as they edged out a 1-0 win over Burnley at Elland Road.

Patrick Bamford's early penalty was enough for the Whites, who defended resolutely to pick up all three points.

Marcelo Bielsa will still be looking at the January transfer window, which opens very soon, as an opportunity to improve his squad, or even sell on some players.

With that being said, here is a round-up of the very latest Leeds transfer stories and rumours.

Juve switch attention to De Paul

Italian champions Juventus have now turned their attention to signing reported Leeds target Rodrigo De Paul in January, according to Corriere dello Sport via Team Talk.

The report from Italy claims that Juve initially looked at alternative options to De Paul, but have now identified him as their main central midfield target for the mid-season transfer window.

The Argentine midfielder, who plays for Udinese, was heavily linked with a move to Bielsa's side over the summer. However, a move never materialised, with the Serie A club wanting €40million (£36.3m) for the 26-year-old, a figure Leeds were not willing to pay.

Inter chase Origi move

Inter Milan are interested in signing Liverpool striker Divock Origi in January, with Leeds previously being urged to sign the Belgian.

According to Corriere dello Sport via Team Talk, Origi is a target for the Milan-based club, with Antonio Conte identifying him as a perfect back-up to Romelu Lukaku.

The Reds forward has barely featured under Jurgen Klopp this season and is set to leave the club in one of the next two transfer windows. Leeds have been linked with a move for the 25-year-old, but Inter now seem like the club leading the race for the Belgian centre-forward.

James tipped for Leeds move

Former Manchester United defender Danny Simpson believes Daniel James should leave Old Trafford in January and make a move to Leeds.

The Whites have been linked with a move for James since the summer transfer window, with the Wales international struggling for consistent minutes under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Now, Simpson has delivered his verdict to Stadium Astro: "We keep hearing rumours, he keeps getting linked to Leeds in January. These rumours don’t come from nowhere. Maybe it could be time to go and play football week in, week out instead of playing once every four or five games.”
