Leeds United transfer rumours: Rodrigo De Paul alternative emerges, Marcelo Bielsa's loan plan

It is now two weeks until the summer transfer window closes, and Leeds United are still looking to add to their squad.

The Whites are on three points having played two games so far this season, picking up their first win against Fulham on Saturday.

It’s been a busy window for Marcelo Bielsa so far, bringing in six new faces as he looks to keep Leeds in the top flight.

However, it could get even busier for Leeds in the next fortnight and here are the very latest transfer rumours.

De Paul alternative eyed

Leeds have turned their attention from Rodrigo De Paul to Atalanta midfielder Ruslan Malinovskyi, according to the Telegraph .

The report claims that despite the Whites having a strong interest in De Paul, a deal for the Udinese star failed to materialise.

This has forced Leeds to look elsewhere and they have identified Malinovskyi as their next summer target.

The 27-year-old Ukraine international scored eight goals in 34 appearances in Italy’s top-flight last season, while making nine Champions League appearances for Atalanta.

Reported Leeds target available to buy

Back in July, ESPN claimed Leeds were interested in a move for Manchester United goalkeeper Sergio Romero.

Now, according to the Sun , United are looking to offload their now-number three goalkeeper amid links to Premier League clubs.

Among those top-flight sides linked were Leeds, as well as Everton, the report states.

The 33-year-old wants to leave Old Trafford as he seeks more opportunities of first-team football.

Bielsa transfer plan revealed

Leeds boss Bielsa will only allow youngsters to move on loan when the club signs more players for him to pick from.

So far this summer, the Whites have brought in six new faces but the Argentine wants more if he is to let some of the younger players leave the club on loan to gain first-team experience.

That’s according to the Sun , who claim that Robbie Gotts and Jordan Stevens are both attracting interest from other clubs.

Despite Gotts being linked with a move to Huddersfield Town and Stevens being linked with Swindon Town, Bielsa will only allow them to leave when he has more options in his squad.
