Leeds United transfer rumours: Robbie Gotts targeted and Ryan Kent set for new deal

While the European transfer window has closed, Leeds United still have until 16 October to sign players from - or send players to - clubs within the EFL.

We’ve got the latest on some potential Elland Road ins and outs which could materialise in the coming days.

Three clubs eyeing up loan move for Leeds man

For much of the window, Robbie Gotts has attracted interest from the Championship and below as EFL sides look to snap up a man unlikely to get many minutes in the Premier League this season.

The versatile 20-year-old made his Whites debut last season, but has only played 12 minutes this term as a late substitute against Hull City in the Carabao Cup.

Manager Marcelo Bielsa suggested some of Leeds’ squad players could be loaned out after that cup exit, and Gotts - who can play at full-back or in midfield - is among those to catch the eye.

Beren Cross' Leeds United transfer deadline day reaction

According to Football Insider , Leeds have begun talks with Huddersfield Town, Doncaster Rovers and Swindon Town over a potential loan switch.

Huddersfield boss Carlos Corberan knows Gotts well, having worked with the youngster during his time in charge of Leeds’ under-23s, while Swindon have already brought in one loanee from Leeds in the form of Jordan Stevens.

Both Swindon and Doncaster are pushing for a high finish in League One, sitting seventh and fifth respectively after four games of the new season.

Kent set for new Rangers deal after Leeds interest

Ryan Kent was one of a number of players reported to be on Leeds’ shopping list this summer as the club looked for reinforcements on the wing.

The Elland Road side eventually moved for Raphinha, with the winger joining from Rennes at the eleventh hour, and former Liverpool man Kent stayed at Rangers.

Kent only signed his latest deal with the Scottish side last year, but Football Insider reports that the Gers are ready to offer him a new and improved deal after managing to fend off Premier League interest.

The 23-year-old, a £7m signing from Liverpool in 2019 following a successful loan spell, is reportedly on £20,000 per week.

After impressing last season for Steven Gerrard’s side, he has already found the net five times in 12 appearances this term.

Michael Cuisance denies he failed a medical at Leeds

French midfielder Michael Cuisance has found a new club for the 2020/21 season, joining Marseille on loan after being unsatisfied with his first-team opportunities at Bayern Munich.

The 21-year-old had looked set to move to Leeds United in a move worth a reported £20m, only for a move to fall through, with some reports suggesting a failed medical was to blame.

However, in a press conference to announce his move to Ligue 1, the youngster attempted to set the record straight.

“There was no problem with the medical examination. I spent one in Marseille and it went very well,” Cuisance said .

"There was no problem on my side. Afterwards, I don't know more. Here I spent it and I'm in good shape."

After breaking through at Borussia Monchengladbach as a teenager, Cuisance joined Bayern in 2019 and had been tipped to make a real first-team impact.

However, he started just three games last season, playing 10 times in the Bundesliga in total including one substitute appearance this year, and there is an option to make his Marseille loan move permanent at the end of the season.
