Leeds United transfer rumours: Pablo Hernandez replacement, Whites tipped to sign Danny Rose

With the January transfer window just weeks away from opening, it could be the perfect opportunity for Leeds United to add more depth to their squad.

Marcelo Bielsa's side have been an entertaining watch as we approach the halfway point of their first season back in the Premier League for 16 years.

However, the Whites have shown some vulnerabilities at times, which could tempt Bielsa into the transfer market.

With that said, we bring you a round-up of the very latest transfer rumours and stories that concern Leeds.

Hernandez replacement eyed

Leeds could sign a replacement for Pablo Hernandez next month, according to former Premier League striker Kevin Phillips.

Is everything okay with Pablo?

The 35-year-old has found it difficult to cement a place in Bielsa's first-team recently and Phillips has backed the Whites to replace him in January.

Speaking to Football Insider, he said: There could be a January exit there to free up a salary for another defender or even someone in Hernandez’s position. It will be interesting to see what happens tonight (against West Ham).”

Hernandez was such a big part in Leeds' promotion from the Championship last season, but has only played a bit-part role so far this term.

Gerrard urges Kamara to sign new deal

Rangers boss Steven Gerrard has urged his club's board to sort the Glen Kamara contract situation out 'quickly' amid transfer links with Leeds.

The Whites have been linked with a move for Kamara in recent weeks, but Gerrard is determined for him to stay put at Ibrox for the time being.

The former Liverpool captain said: “I thought Glen Kamara again showed why everybody is talking about him and there’s a lot of fuss about him.

“I thought he was outstanding from start to finish and my advice to the club is to move that situation along as quickly as they can."

Phillips makes Rose claim

When speaking to Football Insider, Kevin Phillips has backed Leeds to sign Tottenham Hotspur left-back Danny Rose in January.

The Whites have been playing Ezgjan Alioski and Stuart Dallas - who aren't naturally full-backs - on the left side of defence this season and Phillips has mentioned the out-of-favour Rose as an option.

“I imagine Leeds would look at Danny Rose. It will not be about money for him at this stage.

“I imagine Leeds would look at Danny Rose. It will not be about money for him at this stage. It is an area that I think Bielsa will be looking at and Danny Rose – to me it is a no-brainer."
