It’s perhaps the biggest summer in recent Leeds United history, as they prepare for life back in the Premier League.
The last time that the Whites were in the top-flight, it was called the Premiership, that’s how long it’s been.
Now, under the tutelage of Marcelo Bielsa, they built a team that won the Championship in explosive fashion, but they are aware that they may need to strengthen their squad in order to maintain Premier League football.
With that being said, we’re taking a look at the very latest Leeds-related transfer rumours from around the world.
Ollie Watkins interest
As reported earlier, Leeds are still looking to further bolster their attack in the transfer market after breaking their transfer record to sign Rodrigo from Valencia.
Football Insider report that Leeds were keen on a loan move for Liverpool youngster Rhian Brewster, who impressed at Swansea City last season, but Jurgen Klopp has ruled out another move away for the 20-year-old striker.
The report goes on to state the club will now turn their attention to alternative targets.
Leeds retain an interest in Brentford’s Ollie Watkins, while they’ve enquired about taking Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi on loan.
Almada release clause
South American outlet Ole claim that Leeds need £22.2m to guarantee the signing of Thiago Almada.
The 19-year-old, dubbed the next Carlos Tevez, has been linked with the Whites along with Man City and Manchester United.
He has just seen his release clause increase by £1.8m, with his club, Velez Sarsfield, yet to receive an official bid.
McCann issues Lopes claim
Hull City midfielder Leonardo Da Silva Lopes, who has been linked with a move to Elland Road, will not be sold on the cheap, the Tigers’ boss Grant McCann has insisted.
Fellow promoted side West Bromwich Albion have also been linked with a move for Da Silva Lopes, after an impressive season last term.
However, Hull will not let their star midfielder leave for cheap, as McCann confirms: “Leo wants to leave. He made that very clear at the end of last season. We’ve had a couple of offers for him, but none that match our valuation. He’s been back in the week after being ill.
“Leo is contracted here, so until someone meets the valuation - he will be our player.”
