Leeds United transfer rumours: Nahitan Nandez breaks his silence as new midfielder is linked

Leeds United continue to be linked to a number of players as the transfer window begins to click into gear this summer.

The Whites are understood to be keen on acquiring players at left-back, in central midfield and a winger ahead of their second season back in the Premier League.

Marcelo Bielsa already believes he has a number of the core ingredients at the club and only the right additions will be made to add to an already impressive squad at his disposal.

Here is a round-up of the latest reports on players being linked with a move to Elland Road.

Nandez breaks silence on Leeds rumours

Nahitan Nandez has poured cold water on a potential move to Leeds United after constant links from the Italian media.

The Cagliari midfielder has been heavily touted as a potential new recruit at Elland Road as the club seek to add another midfielder to their ranks.

However, LeedsLive understands that Nandez is not on Victor Orta's shortlist despite speculation which has been fuelled by the Italian press and comments from Nandez's agent.

“The rumours about Leeds? I heard, but honestly, I don’t know anything yet and I have my head in the Copa América and in reaching the goal,” he said, as quoted by Centotrentuno.

New midfielder linked

According to The Athletic, Leeds United are interested in former Arsenal midfielder Kelechi Nwakali.

The Nigerian is currently at Huesca and has one year left on his current deal, but is a target for Premier League newbies Watford.

The report claims that the 23-year-old wants another bash at English football.

Perraud joins Southampton

Former Leeds United target Romain Perraud has joined Premier League rivals Southampton.

The Frenchman has been confirmed as the Saints' new left-back, arriving from Brest for £11million.

Perraud was heavily linked with a move to Leeds last month but the club have pursued other options, with Junior Firpo likely to become their new left-back.
