Leeds United transfer rumours: Matheus Cunha link 'intensifies' and Nahitan Nandez agent claim

Leeds United continue to be linked to a number of players as the transfer window begins to click into gear this summer.

The Whites are understood to be keen on acquiring players at left-back, in central midfield and a winger ahead of their second season back in the Premier League.

Marcelo Bielsa already believes he has a number of the core ingredients at the club and only the right additions will be made to add to an already impressive squad at his disposal.

Here is a round-up of the latest reports on players being linked with a move to Elland Road.

Matheus Cunha interest 'intensifies'

That's the claim from UOL Esporte in Brazil, via Sport Witness, who suggest the Hertha Berlin star is the subject of interest from United and that talks have 'intensified' over a possible deal.

They add that a fee of between £21.5m and £26m would be required to complete a deal with Hertha looking to make a profit on a player they bought from RB Leipzig for £15m last year.

And there is even a suggestion that he is a player who Marcelo Bielsa has personally requested ahead of next season.

Leeds Live understands that Cunha is a player Leeds have monitored ahead of this summer's transfer window.

Pablo Hernandez opens up on potential move

Former Leeds United midfielder Pablo Hernandez insists he is aiming for an ambitious move this summer following his Elland Road exit.

“I have shown it at Leeds, and I want to go to an ambitious project and to a place that aspires to beautiful things, to upgrade,” he told El Mundo.

“Or if it is in First, to a team with which I feel identified with. In this category [First RFEF], the only team that can give me this is Castellón,

“The day I decide to sign for Castellón will not be due to the economic issue. I know the limitations of this category and the club.

“I have always said that I would like to play for Castellón and the financial issue will not be a priority when I do so.”

Nahitan Nandez agent discusses player's future amid links to Leeds

Uruguayan midfielder Nahitan Nandez has this week been linked with a move to Leeds United, with a number of Italian newspapers claiming the Cagliari midfielder could be headed to West Yorkshire.

He has been linked across multiple windows now but no approach has yet been made for the player and his agent Pablo Bentancur gave an interview yesterday to TuttoMercatoWeb to discuss his client's future.

"It is very likely that Nandez will leave Cagliari," he said.

"He is ready for a big one. We have had many contacts. The market, however, is a bit slow due to Covid. In England, someone asked for information, as well as in Italy. We are working."
