Leeds United transfer rumours: Mateusz Klich admission, John Ruddy linked

While it's uncertain how Leeds United's season will end but while these strange times continue, nothing can bring a halt to the transfer speculation.

Of course, it remains to be seen whether Leeds will be playing in the Premier League or in the Championship, which of course will have an impact on the business that is conducted at Elland Road.

The rumours persist though and we have gathered some of the latest transfer gossip concerning the Whites below.

Mateusz Klich admission

Leeds United star Mateusz Klich has admitted he could have moved to Middlesbrough before he sealed his switch to join the Whites.

"My manager called me and told me I had got an offer from Middlesbrough. Victor was at Middlesbrough. I was at Twente at that time and I said ‘yeah, if I can go to England we can consider it'.

“He called me and said the plan had changed and I had got the offer from Leeds United. I was a bit happier because, obviously, Middlesbrough was Premier League at that time but you knew they were going to go down. Leeds, I don’t want to be disrespectful to Middlesbrough, but Leeds is a bigger club. So I was happy to join Leeds.”

John Ruddy linked

Leeds United will be offered the opportunity to sign Wolves goalkeeper John Ruddy in the next transfer window, Football Insider states.

The experienced Premier League stopper has fallen down the pecking order in Nuno Espirito Santo's side since the signing of Rui Patricio.

His contract is due to expire in the coming months and Leeds could consider a move due to the uncertainty surrounding the performances of Kiko Casilla.

Leeds backed to make Cash move

Leeds United have been backed to make a move to sign Nottingham Forest midfielder Matty Cash in the next transfer window if they secure promotion to the Premier League.

The 22-year-old right-back has caught the eye with his performances at the City Ground this season, which could lead to interest in his services, and Alex Bruce believes Leeds could be among his suitors.

“It wouldn’t surprise me if Leeds were looking to get him. I think Cash and Worrall are good players, they’ve got a few decent ones at Forest," he told Football Insider.

“I think Forest won’t be the only club in terms of people outside the Premier League, and teams in the Premier League, who will be massively affected by everything that’s gone on. If clubs need to sell, I think it will be an interesting period to see if everything goes back to normal.”
