Leeds United transfer rumours: Man City target Ben White and Pablo Hernandez replacement claim

Leeds United's hopes of returning to the Premier League received a boost on Friday when it was confirmed by the EFL that they are still planning on finishing the season.

All professional football in England has been indefinitely suspended due to the coronavirus outbreak.

But despite no games being played at the minute, that hasn’t stopped the rumour mill from continuing with the latest transfer tittle-tattle.

With that in mind, here are the latest Leeds United transfer rumours.

Man City look at White

Manchester City are keeping a keen eye on Brighton & Hove Albion defender Ben White.

The 22-year-old has established himself as an exciting talent having impressed on loan at Leeds United this season.

Pep Guardiola wants to add a new defender to his ranks and White could replace fellow countryman John Stones, reports The Athletic.

Aouchiche being eyed

Leeds United are rumoured to be in the running to land PSG youngster Adil Aouchiche this summer.

Aouchiche will be out of contract at the Parc des Princes at the end of the season and is believed to be attracting the interest of a host of English sides.

The forward has scored 15 goals in 25 games for France's U17 side, and according to 90min, the Whites are eyeing a move in the upcoming window.

Leeds tipped to replace Hernandez

Former Whites forward Noel Whelan claims his old club should look to replace Pablo Hernandez in the summer if they secure promotion to the Premier League.

Hernandez is set to remain at the Elland Road club until the summer of 2022, and helped his side to the top of the Premier League table.

But Whelan believes Marcelo Bielsa needs to look at adding some fresh blow to his squad as the Spaniard isn’t getting any younger.

“There is a lack of Premier League experience and a lack of quality in certain areas,” the former forward told Football Insider.

“You have Pablo Hernandez coming to the back end of his career and he is the one player that can produce that bit of brilliance. He is a standout player and he will need replacing.

“It will cost you money to get a player like Pablo Hernandez in his prime but it does make the difference.
