Leeds United transfer rumours: Lukaku enquiry made, Rose competition, Cabral deal on hold

Leeds United may be close to signing Rodrigo from Valencia but there is still plenty of work to be done in the transfer market.

The Whites need to strengthen in their defence after the departure of Ben White and have been heavily linked with a variety of players.

Here are the latest Leeds United transfer rumours.

Lukaku enquiry

Ilmessaggero claim that Leeds United have made an enquiry to sign Jordan Lukaku from Lazio.

The left-back - brother of Inter Milan star Romelu - struggled for regular football in the Italian capital last season.

Premier League new season in numbers

Lukaku is a versatile left-sided player, who can play at both left-back and further forward.

With a valuation of around £3.6m, Lukaku would be a cheaper signing than many of the players the Whites have been linked with this season.

Danny Rose competition

beIN Sports' Eric Kakauer says that Leeds United are keen to re-sign Danny Rose.

The Elland Road youth product looks set to leave Tottenham Hotspur this summer after he spent the second half of last season on loan at Newcastle United.

Yet the Whites face competition for the left-back.

Newcastle are keen on signing him on a permanent basis after his loan move, whilst Leicester City are also said to be interested after selling Ben Chilwell to Chelsea.

Cabral move on hold

Brazilian outlet UOL says that discussions over Leeds' move for Arthur Cabral have been put on hold.

Earlier in the week, the same outlet claimed that agents were flying to Europe to close a deal for the striker, who is currently at Basel.

Leeds are willing to pay €15m for the 22-year-old and another €3m in add-ons.

Yet the Swiss club are keen on €20m for the Brazil under-23 attacker.

There are also concerns over whether the player would be able to get a work permit in England.
