Leeds United transfer rumours: Last-ditch Ryan Kent offer, Premier League goalkeeper interest

We’re into the final 12 days of the summer transfer window, and it could be crucially important that Leeds United get it right.

There have been six new players who have moved to Elland Road already this summer as Marcelo Bielsa’s side look to maintain their impressive performances at the start of the season.

After missing out on Ben White earlier in the summer, the Whites are still keen on bringing in another central defender into the club before October 5 with Diego Llorente close to a move from Real Sociedad.

Here, we have gathered all of the latest Leeds-related transfer stories circulating from around Europe.

Last-ditch Kent offer

Leeds United have been aware for some time of the £20million release clause in Ryan Kent’s Rangers contract as they plot a late-window bid, Football Insider reports.

The Yorkshire giants had a £10m bid including add-ons knocked back by Steven Gerrard’s side earlier in the summer.

They claim Leeds are plotting an improved offer for Kent ahead of the 5 October cut-off but won't meet the £20m release clause.

Leeds register Gunn interest

The door has opened for Leeds United to swoop for Angus Gunn as Southampton prepare to listen to loan offers, Football Insider reports.

The 24-year-old goalkeeper is a longstanding target of Leeds, who were keen on signing him two years ago ahead of his move from Man City to the Saints.

The Whites signed Illan Meslier permanently in the summer but doubts remain over the future of Kiko Casilla.

Man United stance on Leeds targe

Manchester United winger Daniel James will not leave the club this summer on a loan deal or a permanent one, according to Manchester Evening News.

The Welsh winger had been linked with Leeds in recent weeks, but it appears he will be staying put at Old Trafford for the rest of the season at least.

The Whites initially showed interest in James before he moved from Swansea City to United, but couldn’t strike a deal with the Welsh club.

The report states that Bielsa remains a “huge admirer” of James, but sources close to the player do not expect him to move on this summer.
