Leeds United transfer rumours: Jack Harrison deal, Michael Olise clause, midfielder claim

The Premier League fixtures are coming thick and fast for Leeds United, but with the January transfer window now under two months away, there is a slight focus on that as well.

New stories and gossip continue on a daily basis, despite the transfer window officially being closed as it stands. Speculation is growing over who could arrive at Elland Road during the mid-season window, as well as who might depart the Premier League side.

Here’s all the latest transfer news and rumours on Leeds.

Harrison expected to sign permanent deal

Leeds loanee Jack Harrison is expected to turn his temporary contract into a permanent one next summer.

Harrison is currently on loan at the Whites from Manchester City, and is now in his third season with Marcelo Bielsa 's side.

However, the 23-year-old is expected to make Yorkshire his official home by signing a permanent deal with Leeds. That's according to The Athletic, who claim a deal for around £10 million could happen.

Whelan identifies area Leeds must address

Noel Whelan believes Leeds must sign a central midfield player in January, per Football Insider.

The Whites were in the market for a centre-midfielder over the summer and saw a last-minute hiccup call off the signing of Michael Cuisance. Now, Whelan has identified the area Leeds must address in January.

He said: "Leeds definitely need to sign another central midfielder (in January). Whether we are doing well or not, we still need another creative midfielder, it is a must. I think it is what Marcelo Bielsa wanted in the summer but we ran out of time. That will still be on the cards and I think there will be some strengthening in the January window."

Olise £8m release clause

Michael Olise has an £8m release clause in his contract at Championship club Reading, according to a report on Football Insider.

The Whites, as well as Chelsea, Liverpool, Everton, Arsenal, Wolves, Borussia Dortmund, RB Leipzig, AS Monaco and Napoli have all been tracking the 18-year-old, according to reports.

The midfielder has started the 2020/21 season in great form for the high-flying Royals, and this latest contract update is set to put Bielsa's side on alert ahead of the January window. Olise has played nine times in the Championship so far this season for Reading, scoring two goals and providing three assists in the process.
