Leeds United transfer rumours: Harry Wilson deal update, Habib Diallo price tag

It is little over a month to go until Leeds United embark on their first Premier League campaign since 2004.

The Whites are due to kick off the top flight season in mid-September.

But before then, the transfer window is well and truly open for business and Marcelo Bielsa will undoubtedly be looking at where he can improve his squad.

With that in mind, here's the latest round-up from the transfer rumour mill that concerns the Elland Road club.

Battle with Newcastle for Oxford defender

Leeds and Newcastle are two clubs reportedly trying to sign Oxford United's Rob Dickie, according to the Mirror.

The 24-year-old was part of a U's side which reached the League One play-off final last season, but lost out on promotion to the Championship after being beaten 2-1 by Wycombe Wanderers.

Oxford are under pressure to sell their star man given the defender's contract expires next summer meaning he would be able to leave the club on a free transfer.

He has been at the Kassam Stadium since 2018, after joining from Reading.

'€15m to €20m to sign striker'

Leeds and Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing FC Metz striker Habib Diallo.

The Senegal international has reached double figures in the past two seasons for the French club.

And according to L'Equipe and highlighted by Sport Witness, an offer of between €15m and €20m would be enough to secure the 25-year-old.

Both Spurs and Leeds are mentioned in the report.

Whites chase of Liverpool's Wilson near collapse

Leeds United's hopes of signing Liverpool's Harry Wilson are reportedly on the verge of collapse.

Football Insider claims that Marcelo Bielsa's interest in the Anfield winger has cooled and has had a change of heart, despite the Whites reportedly manoeuvring to sign the winger.

The 23-year-old Wales international spent last season on loan in the Premier League at Bournemouth, and scored seven goals in 35 games in all competitions as the Cherries were eventually relegated to the Championship.

Jurgen Klopp's side have slapped a £20m price tag on Wilson, who has three years left to run on his Anfield contract.
