Leeds United transfer rumours: Erik Pulgar twist, potential Louie Sibley boost

Like so many Premier League clubs, the transfer window has been a quiet one at Elland Road as Leeds United have adapted well to life back in the top division.

An attacking style of play has caught the eye of both pundits and fans of other teams alike, bringing in both criticism and plaudits.

Nonetheless, it has proved to be a solid start for the newly-promoted outfit, and the only transfer rumblings seem to stem from previous noise in the summer window.

On Friday, Leeds announced perhaps the surprise signing of the month - the prospect of a new pitch for £300,000 - supplied by Tottenham Hotspur - but with a relatively small budget compared to the rest of the league will we see Bielsa delve into the player market?

Here are the latest news and rumours.

Does no goals in three games worry Bielsa?

Ram raid?

The prospects of both Leeds and Derby County are seemingly polar opposites in 2021 as the former enjoy Premier League life and the latter scramble to survive in the Championship.

Derby - managed by Wayne Rooney - appear to find themselves in some financial difficulties ahead of a prospective takeover, and as a result, Leeds could be handed a huge boost in an attempt to sign midfielder Louise Sibley.

Such a deal was recently discussed on the Phil Hay Show Podcast, as The Athletic reported that Leeds were keen on the teenager. The latest financial reports only strengthen Leeds' hand with claims interest could "heat up" in the final days of January.

The Rams attacking midfielder broke into the starting line-up during last season’s restart and went onto start the last 10 league games of the season.

Kent tipped for exit

Winger Ryan Kent has been a revelation at Rangers under Steven Gerrard, but could still be tempted to leave the club despite them sitting 20 points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership, according to Alan Hutton.

The former Aston Villa and Rangers defender believes Kent could be lured to Leeds after they failed with a £10million bid in the summer ( BBC Sport ).

Hutton told Football Insider : “Rangers paid £7million which is massive money for Rangers, let’s not kid ourselves, Leeds had huge interest in him but it didn’t quite work out but again I always go back and say if the price is right, the player will go.”

Kent’s focus for now remains on keeping up both his and Rangers’ relentless league form; having featured in all 24 league games this season the winger has five goals and eight assists to his name.

Rodrigo De Paul back on?

Leeds' reported interest in any deal for Erick Pulgar is now "dead" and they will instead switch their attentions back to Rodrigo De Paul, according to TMW.

The Udinese midfielder was heavily linked with Leeds in the summer and the rumours of a move are surfacing once more.

As fans snap up any glimmers of information they can find, many were alerted to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano reporting that Mino Raiola could be set to become De Paul’s new agent.

Coincidentally, Raiola is good friends with Leeds owner Andrea Radrizzani.

So does this mean we can expect to see a bid for De Paul? No doubt the speculation will grow but it's still our understanding it's a deal that won't happen.
