Leeds United may be looking at adding to their squad once the January transfer window opens in a few weeks’ time.
The Whites’ start in the Premier League has been impressive, but there are certain areas of Marcelo Bielsa’s squad that are set to be addressed once the mid-season window opens.
There are also a few players that have been linked with a move away from Elland Road, with plenty of business set to be done in the next month or so. With that said, here is a round-up of the latest Leeds transfer news and rumours ahead of January.
Norwich prepared for Buendia bids
Norwich City are braced for a lot of interest in midfielder Emi Buendia, amid the Argentine playmaker being linked with a move to Leeds.
According to Sky Sports, Buendia has a number of admirers, including Atletico Madrid and Valencia, and the Canaries are prepared to have to fend off interest.
The Championship club are currently scanning the market for potential replacements for the 23-year-old, and the Whites have been linked with a move. Back in October, Bielsa reportedly wanted to bring Todd Cantwell to Elland Road, but after a bid was rejected by Norwich, the Whites turned their attention to Buendia.
Leeds keen on Celtic winger
Leeds have been monitoring Celtic winger Ryan Christie, as well as three other Premier League clubs, according to 90Min.
However, the report claims that Leicester City are the side which is especially keen on signing Christie, who has been in fine form for the Scottish champions recently.
The Whites, as well as Newcastle United and Southampton, are keen on the 25-year-old and could look to make a move in the near future. Leeds recently signed Raphinha, who plays in a similar position to Christie, but have been linked with another wide player, with Daniel James being spoken about in the last few months.
Olise blow
Crystal Palace are the team leading the race for Reading starlet Michael Olise, with Leeds also reportedly interested, according to The Sunday People via Football League World.
The report claims that Palace are the current favourites to secure the signing of the highly-rated 19-year-old when the January transfer window opens.
However, it also says that the Whites are keen on bringing Olise to Elland Road in the mid-season window. Manchester City, Liverpool, Arsenal and Wolves have also been named as potential suitors for the Royals star.
