The January transfer window is a week old and Leeds United's expectation that it would be a somewhat quiet window have held true thus far.
The club spent big in the summer, investing in a range of players and position that totalled almost £100million. As such, it was always likely that they would curtail their spending in the winter window.
Nevertheless, that does not stop the relentless transfer mill from churning and, as is ever the case in modern football, Leeds continue to be linked with a range of players.
We have updates on three different targets that are reportedly of interest to Marcelo Bielsa, Victor Orta, and the recruitment team at Elland Road.
Here is a round-up of the latest Leeds transfer rumours.
Erick Pulgar interest
Leeds are reportedly monitoring the progress of Erick Pulgar, who has been linked with a move away from Serie A side Fiorentina.
Leeds have repeatedly been named as potential suitors of the 26-year-old, who was the subject of an unsuccessful £10m bid from the Whites in September, per La Nazione via Sport Witness.
However, this week, La Nazione via Sport Witness again reports of Leeds' interest, this time stating that it is more concrete than ever before.
Thursday's edition of the Italian outlet reports that the Chilean is close to a farewell from Fiorentina as he has not gotten off the bench in the last two matches, which is viewed as an indication that his time at the club is coming to an end.
Bielsa wants Lucas Vazquez
Bielsa is reportedly keen on Real Madrid winger Lucas Vazquez, who has just over six months remaining on his contract but has impressed in a new-found right-back role.
Formerly an industrious winger, Vazquez has adapted to his new role well and, per Defensa Central via HITC, is now pushing for a major pay rise as Madrid attempt to tie him down to a new contract before his current deal expires in the summer.
Vazquez holds the power in negotiations, and Marca reported earlier this week that he has already rejected Madrid's first offer as he seeks a substantial pay increase.
Meanwhile, Defensa Central's report adds that Bielsa has asked Leeds to monitor Vazquez's progress as he ponders a free-agent summer signing.
Manchester United enter Kone race
Manchester United have entered the race to sign proposed Leeds target Kouadia Kone, according to Foot Mercato via Sport Witness.
It was previously reported that Toulouse had increased Kone's price by 50% as a consequence of Leeds' interest. However, that does not seem to have put off United, who are reportedly "very interested" in the midfielder, who already has an offer from Milan.
Borussia Monchengladbach are named as another interested party, while Leeds reportedly remain in the hunt, too.
Kone, 19, has already made 20 appearances this season for Toulouse, shining in the heart of the Ligue 1 side's midfield.
