Leeds United transfer rumours: Brexit 'turmoil' predicted as Nandez offer 'sent back'

Leeds United have started the Premier League season in terrific style and last weekend's victory over Everton summed it up.

It has been a brilliant start to their first campaign in the top-flight for 16 years, and Marcelo Bielsa can thank his new signings for their contributions.

Recruitment may again be a priority for the Whites in the coming weeks, with the January window on the horizon. In light of this, here is the latest transfer news and rumours round-up on Leeds.

Leeds warned Phillips form will attract suitors

Former Leeds midfielder Carlton Palmer has been discussing the future of star midfielder Kalvin Phillips after his impressive start to life in the Premier League.

How good is Stuart Dallas at the minute?

Phillips, who has been called up to the England national side following his impressive form, has been linked with a move to Liverpool and Tottenham.

Speaking to This is Futbol, Palmer said: "If a player decides to move and then creates a problem within your dressing room, within the team, you're almost forced to sell him. So, a lot will depend on what the player wants to do. If he's happy and he's played, then hopefully he'll be fine and not create a problem for the club.

"But the club's bigger than any one player, (and) Leeds need to stay in the Premier League, so they can't afford to carry any passengers and they cannot afford to have anybody disrupting the dressing room."

Difficulties in transfer window

Leeds will face 'turmoil' in the upcoming transfer windows due to the new recruiting rules for UK clubs, according to agent Roberto De Fanti via Sport Witness.

Previously, if a player already owned an EU passport, then they would not need a work permit to play in the Premier League, but now due to changes it means that nobody under the age of 18 can be signed from the EU. This could be a disaster for the Whites, according to De Fanti, as well as plenty of other Premier League clubs.

"For City and Liverpool the problem does not exist or almost not. Burnley, WBA, the current Leeds United, will have difficulties. After the top six, all will have problems and there’s turmoil," De Fanti explained.

Nandez offer 'sent back'

According to Centotrentuno, Leeds and West Ham United made offers for Nahitan Nandez of Cagliari during the summer window.

In August, it was reported that Bielsa identified Nandez as the 'perfect' option for his side, and links continued to be published.

Now, the report coming from Italy is claiming that the Whites saw an offer 'sent back' by the Serie A club, as it wasn't considered to be high enough.

As well as this, West Ham made a bid for the 24-year-old but it didn't meet the club's valuations, who inserted a €36million (£32.3m) release clause in his contract, which could be triggered in the January transfer window, the report states.
