Leeds United transfer rumours: Ben White revelation, Victor Orta told to seal deal

Leeds United are back in Premier League action on Monday evening, as Marcelo Bielsa's men welcome Leicester City to Elland Road.

After Bielsa 's side's impressive 3-0 win at Aston Villa, the Whites are now full of confidence going into their latest league fixture.

Despite a strong start to the 2020/21 campaign, the Leeds boss will be fully aware of some of the areas of the squad that need adding to ahead of the January transfer window.

With that being said, here we look at the latest Whites transfer stories.

Phillips opens up on White's failed move

Leeds midfielder Kalvin Phillips has revealed that Ben White was gutted after his permanent move to Elland Road fell through.

White was an ever-present figure in the Bielsa's side's title-winning Championship campaign last season, but returned to his parent club Brighton & Hove Albion in the summer.

Phillips, speaking to the Leeds That podcast, said: "I spoke to Ben after his game the other day. Obviously, he was gutted at the time when he didn't sign, but it came to a point where you have to just forget about the chance to play for Leeds and just play football.

"I don't really talk to him about football now, just ask how he and his family are doing.

Martyn wants new deal for Alioski

Former Leeds goalkeeper Nigel Martyn has urged his old club to offer Ezgjan Alioski a new contract.

Alioski 's current deal at Elland Road expires at the end of the 2020/21 season, meaning the North Macedonia international could leave on a free transfer if the issue isn't resolved.

Martyn, speaking to The Boot Room, said: "It depends on how much game-time he gets and then, what he wants to do. If he is not in the starting 11, is he then going to get frustrated? It's a two-way street. Less opportunity might mean he wants to move, no player should be blamed for that.

"See how the season goes, for both parties. If he does play regularly, then both parties should sit down and say let's carry on."

Anita breaks silence following exit

Vurnon Anita has broken his silence following his departure from Leeds back in 2019.

The 31-year-old had his contract terminated by mutual consent over a year ago, and took five months out of football before joining CSKA Sofia, and is now at Dutch club RKC Waalwijk.

The former Leeds and Newcastle United man told ChronicleLive: "I'm happy to be here with the philosophy of the way we play.

"I'm 31 and definitely not done in football. I hope that I can extend my career as long as I can."
