Leeds United transfer rumours: Ben White blow, Sergio Romero interest

Leeds United fans are set for a big week, as tomorrow morning the fixture schedule for their long-awaited return to the Premier League will be revealed.

Marcelo Bielsa has already made a number of additions in the transfer market ahead of the rise to the top-flight but there is still business to be done.

A host of names continue to be linked with a move to Elland Road, while there could also be a number of departures on the horizon too.

Here, we have gathered some of the latest snippets surrounding the Whites.

Defenders linked with a Leeds United transfer

'Brick wall' in Ben White hunt

Leeds United have not given up on signing Ben White from Brighton but have 'hit a brick wall' in their pursuit.

According to the Mirror's David Anderson, Brighton are standing firm in their stance that the 22-year-old will not be leaving the AMEX Stadium.

While Marcelo Bielsa's side are not closing the door on a signing if Brighton's position changes, they're now pursuing other targets in the centre of defence.

Sergio Romero interest

Manchester United goalkeeper Sergio Romero is attracting interest from Leeds United among other clubs, with the Argentine expected to move away from Old Trafford.

The Whites are looking to add quality to their side ahead of their return to the Premier League and a new goalkeeper is on the cards, following issues with Kiko Casilla.

And now ESPN say Leeds are chasing the 33-year-old alongside Chelsea and Everton, with the South American keen on a move to earn more regular first-team opportunities.

Marcos Senesi update

Feyenoord will not sell centre-back Marcos Senesi this summer, despite reported interest from Leeds United and Everton.

That is according to Feyenoord technical director Frank Arnesen, who has admitted that the Eredivisie side have ambitions to keep hold of the 23-year-old for 'a long time to come'.

"Nobody has come forward [with a bid]. It is nice and nice that our players are mentioned at big clubs, in big countries," Arnesen said, as quoted by HITC Sport.

"But we hope to be able to enjoy Senesi for a long time to come. He has only been playing here for a year. We don’t have to sell anyone, that’s good.”
