Leeds United transfer rumours as Whites-linked manager admits he'll 'wait' for right move to Europe

Here are your Leeds United transfer rumours and gossip on Sunday, April 23.

Leeds United-linked manager Marcelo Gallardo will 'wait' for right Europe move

Leeds United-linked manager Marcelo Gallardo has admitted that he's not afraid to manage in Europe, but will wait for the right opportunity to do so.

The Argentinian was one of many names rumoured to be on the Whites' shortlist following the departure of Jesse Marsch back in February but reportedly turned down a role with the club.

Now, the River Plate boss has reiterated his desire to leave South America to manage in Europe's top leagues, but wouldn't name any teams - including Leeds - that stood out to him.

"I am visualising what the next step in my career might be," he said in an interview with the Athletic. "It has to relate to a feeling. You have to find the right connection, the place where you can transmit your ideas.

“I’m not the kind of person who will just join any old club because I want to coach in Europe. That’s not my way of operating.

“I need to find a place that makes me feel something. I need a sense of identification. If I don’t get that, I have no problem continuing with what I’m doing now."

Leeds United loanee yet to convince bosses of £18m price tag

Leeds United loanee Diego Llorente is reportedly yet to convince the AS Roma bosses that his £18 million price tag is worth the risk in the summer transfer market.

The 29-year-old is now 'perfectly integrated' into the Serie A side's squad according to manager Jose Mourinho after failing to break through early on into his spell away from Elland Road.

But despite four consecutive starts in all competitions, including both legs of their successful Europa League quarter-final tie against Feyenoord, it appears as though the higher-ups at the club aren't convinced according to Italian outlet Roma Live.

"At least one shot to flesh out the workforce will have to be done. Diego Llorente, for example, has integrated well, however the 18 million needed to buy him outright from Leeds are considered excessive by the Giallorossi manager (Tiago Pinto)."
