Leeds United transfer rumours as Whites 'cool interest' in Coventry City striker Viktor Gyokeres

Here are your latest Leeds United transfer rumours for Tuesday, January 16.

Viktor Gyokeres interest 'cooled'

Coventry Live claim that Leeds are set to 'cool' their interest in Coventry City forward Viktor Gyokeres after landing the signing of their 'number one striker target'.

Georginio Rutter has penned a five-and-a-half-year deal with the Whites for a fee in the region of an initial £25 million, with add-ons expected to increase the deal to £35 million.

The Whites have been keen to sign Gyokeres but the signing of Rutter is set to end their interest in the Swedish forward. Gyokeres has attracted a number of other Premier League clubs, including Everton, Brentford, Southampton, Fulham and Wolves.

However, Mark Robins has consistently warned that Gyokeres is not for sale, while new owner Doug King has vowed not to be 'sellers' during the January transfer window.

Gyokeres has scored 13 goals in 27 appearances across all competitions for Coventry this term. The 24-year-old is currently one shy of Middlesbrough marksman Chuba Akpom in the race for the Championship golden boot.

Cody Drameh latest

Burnley have been handed a major boost in their quest to sign Leeds full-back Cody Drameh, after Watford boss Slaven Bilic revealed that a right-back is not one of his priorities in January.

Watford and Burnley have been credited with an interest in Drameh, as the 20-year-old could leave Elland Road on loan this month in search for more game time.

But Watford appear to be out of the running after Bilic made his transfer window intentions very clear. "Midfielder, striker, winger," Bilic told the Watford Observer.

Bilic has former Spain international Mario Gaspar, and ex-West Ham defender Jeremy Ngakia at his disposal in the right-back slots. Drameh has featured just once for Leeds in the Premier League this term, and will be looking to replicate the success of his previous loan spell at Cardiff City.

Drameh spent the second half of last season on loan in the Welsh capital and impressed with 22 appearances for the Bluebirds in the Championship. As a result, he was named Cardiff City Player of the Season, and Young Player of the Season.
