Leeds United transfer rumours as West Ham warned over Raphinha move

West Ham warned over Raphinha move

As well as Kalvin Phillips, West Ham United made a bid to take Raphinha from Leeds in January. The Whites gave short shrift to the offer as they required both players in their battle to survive in the Premier League. However, both players could be targets for the Hammers again this summer, particularly if Leeds are unable to pull off an increasingly unlikely escape from relegation.

Carlton Palmer has warned the London side that if they lose Declan Rice, they may struggle to attract stars from elsewhere to join them. He told Give Me Sport : "West Ham are in that crossroads position, but it’s going to be a step up from Leeds, where Leeds are. But if they lose Declan Rice, then it’s going to be a problem for them to attract the top players to come to the football club."

Newcastle and West Ham in race for Leeds target

Leeds were strongly linked to Ben Brereton Diaz in January but a move did not materialise. The Blackburn forward will not be available for free in the summer, despite his contract running out, after his club activated a clause in his contract to trigger an extension.

The Whites would surely only be in the race to sign the Chilean international if they secure another season in the Premier League. However, if Victor Orta is able to make a bid, they will find Newcastle United and West Ham also competing for his signature.
