Leeds United transfer rumours as trio linked as potential Kiko Casilla replacements

Leeds United have already made two permanent signings for the first-team in Junior Firpo and Jack Harrison and rumours of further additions continue to circulate.

There are still areas which the club will be keen to improve their options in as they look to build upon their 9th-placed finish in the Premier League last season.

Kiko Casilla, Mateusz Bogusz and Laurens De Bock have all left on loan within the last week, freeing up space in the squad for fresh faces.

Here are some of the rumours which have emerged in the media over the last 24 hours.

Goalkeeper trio linked

Following Kiko Casilla's loan switch to Elche, the Yorkshire Evening Post have reported that Leeds will look to add another goalkeeper to their ranks.

They have claimed director Victor Orta has identified two young stoppers, one domestic and one from overseas, and that he is speaking with the foreign option and his representatives.

Dani Cárdenas of Levante and Valerenga's Kristoffer Klaesson are said to be on the list, as is Newcastle's Freddie Woodman

Currently, Leeds have under-23s pair Elia Caprile and Dani van den Heuvel as competition for first-choice Illan Meslier.

Woodman competition

According to Football League World, Leeds will face competition from Premier League rivals Arsenal and Championship side Swansea City for Freddie Woodman.

The former England under-21 goalkeeper spent the last two campaigns on loan at Swansea, featuring in their play-off final defeat to Brentford in May.

He is the godson of England boss Gareth Southgate and will harbour ambitions of a place in his squad, but it may prove difficult if he cannot climb the pecking order at Newcastle.

Nandez links persist

Despite LeedsLive understanding that Leeds United are not pursuing Nahitan Nandez, rumours linking the club with the Uruguay international persist in the Italian press.

Centrotrenumo.com claimed that Victor Orta is in Italy to discuss a deal with Cagliari.

However, another conflicting report in TuttoMercato states that the reported €36million release clause is still an issue between the two parties.
