Leeds United transfer rumours as Tottenham set to 'battle' Whites for £13million Serie A star

Here are your Leeds United transfer rumours and gossip for Sunday, February 26.

Lecce 'looking forward' to sanctioning sale for Leeds United target

Serie A side Lecce are reportedly 'looking forward' to selling their captain and Leeds United target Morten Hjulmand in the summer transfer window, according to Italian outlet Calciomercato.

They claim that Hjulmand is likely to leave Lecce at the end of this season after attracting the attention of a number of top clubs during a standout campaign in Italy. The midfielder has been an instrumental part of Lecce's success this term that currently sees them sit 12th in the Italian top-flight following their promotion from Serie B last year.

The 23 year-old has provided five assists in 22 appearances across all competitions, as Roma, Tottenham and Inter Milan also line up a move for Hjulmand alongside Leeds. The report claims that his side are willing to use the interest to cash-in on their defensive midfielder for €15million (£13.2m), but that any negotiations for a deal will have to wait until the conclusion of the current season.

Coventry City have 'reservations' over Viktor Gyokeres joining Leeds in the summer

According to GiveMeSport, Coventry City hold 'some reservations' over Leeds lining up a move for Viktor Gyokeres during the summer transfer window. It has been widely reported that the Whites are keen to tempt the striker to Elland Road next season, regardless as to whether they remain in the Premier League or not.

Gyokeres has had a superb season for the Sky Blues in the Championship, scoring 15 goals and providing five assists in 33 league appearances so far this season. Only Middlesbrough star Chuba Akpom (19) has out-scored the Swede, who is also thought to have attracted the attention of fellow relegation rivals Everton and Bournemouth.

It is also understood that a striker is a priority signing for the club, regardless of who the manager is for next season. Javi Gracia got off to a perfect start to life at Leeds with a 1-0 win over Southampton and the Spaniard could well find himself armed with a new centre forward should he manage to keep the Whites out of the bottom three come May and be rewarded with a new contract.
