Leeds United transfer rumours as Raphinha development emerges and Whites face James McAtee competition

Your latest Leeds United transfer gossip for Monday, June 20.

Raphinha would move to PL club

Whites winger Raphinha would be happy with a move to a fellow Premier League club and is only holding out for Barcelona because of his agent, according to Sport .

The Spanish outlet have claimed that Deco is convincing his player to hold out for the long-awaited move from the Catalan club, but Raphinha himself ‘would have already signed for Liverpool or Chelsea’ if it was purely his choice.

The 25-year-old has been the subject of huge interest from Barcelona, but their financial problems are causing a bump in the road as Leeds hold firm on their demands. The likes of Arsenal, Tottenham and Chelsea all remain keen on a deal for the Brazilian.

Deco has reportedly made a verbal agreement with Barca officials Joan Laporta and Mateu Alemany, forcing him to block any approaches from elsewhere while Barca try and sort out a fee.

Club face PL competition for Man City star

Leeds are likely to face stiff competition from Southampton for Man City teenager James McAtee but hold the advantage thanks to Kalvin Phillips, according to the Mail on Sunday .

Their print edition for June 19 reported that the Whites hold an interest in the 19-year-old and that he could be used as leverage in City’s attempts to sign Phillips.

The Premier League champions are expected to make an approach for the 26-year-old once he finalises his agent change, and have explored the possibility of McAtee or Romeo Lavia as makeweights in a deal.

McAtee made his Premier League debut in November 2021 against Everton, while in the Premier League 2 he racked up an impressive 18 goals and seven assists in 23 appearances.

Whites interested in Phil Jones

Leeds are one of several Premier League club’s interested in signing Manchester United defender Phil Jones, according to Marca .

Jones has made just six Premier League appearances over the past three years and has failed to impress at Old Trafford since signing in 2011.

The former England international is likely to leave the Red Devils this summer as new manager Erik Ten Hag looks to cut the fringes of an ageing squad.

Southampton and Fulham are also reportedly keen on a move for the defender.
