Leeds United transfer rumours as Noa Lang makes decision over Arsenal 'interest'

Here are the latest Leeds United transfer rumours on Sunday, 26 September.

Lang interested in Arsenal move

Noa Lang would be interested in a deal to sign for Arsenal despite reported interest in Leeds United.

The Whites were linked with the Dutch forward across the summer but a deal never materialised and instead, they signed Daniel James.

According to Voetbal24, Lang would be interested in a move to the Emirates, who have been linked with the 21-year-old in recent weeks.

Club Brugge boss Philippe Clement has admitted it's likely he will move to a bigger club next summer, which could alert United.

Man City given alternatives to Kalvin Phillips

Manchester City have been given alternatives to Kalvin Phillips by former Citizens midfielder Steve McManaman, who has suggested young holding midfielders from the academy could make the step up to the first-team.

The 49-year-old has weighed in on the midfield situation of his former employers, who were linked with a move for Phillips after fichajes.net claimed Pep Guardiola had spoken to the board about a swoop for the Leeds star.

McManaman wrote in his Horseracing.net column: “They’ve (Manchester City) got Rodri who plays that type of role but I always think there’s room for another – Manchester City do have a wonderful academy, so one of the lads may be there, ready to step up.

“I do see the under-23s and the under-18s and they’re always strong. They could have a chance.

“But with that defensive role, it’s difficult to find people with a huge amount of quality. A lot of teams look for that position. People are talking about Manchester United needing someone in that position. We always go mad about Claude Makelele, who I played with and sing his praises at the highest level, and N’Golo Kante.

"Whether Kalvin Phillips is that player for City or whether they’ve got their eye on Declan Rice, I have no idea."

Contract emerges after Watford's capture of ex-Leeds hopeful

Watford recently announced the signing of former Leeds forward Jimiel Chikukwa and the details of his contract have been revealed by Football Insider.

They claim the 18-year-old has signed a one-year deal with the club but that there is an option to extend the deal for a further 12 months.

Chikukwa had been with Leeds since the age of 13 but was released in the summer alongside seven of his fellow scholars.
