Leeds United transfer rumours as Noa Lang interest resurfaces and Magpies join race for Raphinha

Here are the latest Leeds United transfer rumours on Sunday, May 15.

Lang interest rekindled amid fresh talks

The return of an old but intriguing link first as Leeds rekindle their interest in Noa Lang amid fresh talks with Club Brugge, according to Football Insider . The 22-year-old was identified last summer as a key attacking target for the Whites but they failed to close a deal and moved instead for Manchester United’s Dan James.

Football Insider wrote: “A recruitment source has told Football Insider that Leeds are continuing to track Lang and have laid the groundwork for a big-money summer move.

“The Dutch attacker has made it privately clear to Brugge he wants to leave this summer and is being tracked by elite clubs across Europe.”

Phil Hay provides Calvin Ramsay update

Leeds are hoping to sign Aberdeen right-back Calvin Ramsay in the summer whether they remain in the Premier League or not, according to The Athletic. The Whites have been linked with the 18-year-old for some time as a potential successor to Luke Ayling, but they face stiff competition from the likes of Liverpool for the Scotsman’s services.

Phil Hay tweeted the following on Friday: “This got a bit lost yesterday but Calvin Ramsay at Aberdeen is one of the players Leeds United hope to sign in the next window. Liverpool want the 18-year-old too and he’s getting close to make-your-mind-up time.”

It seems as though Aberdeen will look to cash in this summer, with the decision at the hands of Ramsay - remaining a Premier League team could prove the difference.

Newcastle join Raphinha race

Newcastle United have joined a host of European clubs looking to sign Raphinha, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano. The Brazilian is believed to have a release clause in his contract, meaning he could leave Elland road for as little as £25-30 million if Leeds go down.

“A player they (Newcastle) love is Raphinha from Leeds,” Romano told the Wondergoal podcast. “We know that Barcelona are leading the race to sign him, but Newcastle are exploring the possibilities for a long time.

“They know this is going to be more than complicated because Barcelona are already in advanced talks with the player’s side. It depends if Leeds will get relegated or not (as) it will be important to understand if the clause will be activated or not.”
