Leeds United transfer rumours as Newcastle eye fresh Jack Harrison bid, Kalimuendo deal 'likely'

Here are the latest Leeds United transfer rumours on Saturday, July 23.

Leeds 'preparing' for fresh Newcastle Harrison bid

Newcastle United will go back to Leeds with an improved offer for Jack Harrison, according to journalist Ben Jacobs.

Many outlets have reported that Newcastle lodged a bid between £18 million and £25 million for Harrison earlier this week - with Leeds quickly rejecting the approach.

"Told #NUFC will go back to Leeds with improved offer for Jack Harrison," said Jacobs.

"Jesse Marsch really doesn't want to lose him. #LUFC can be tough negotiators now that Raphinha & Kalvin Phillips sold. Around £35m is the price tag to make Leeds even consider a sale & they may demand more."

Jacobs has also stated that it will be a 'big ask' for the two clubs to agree a fee, but Newcastle remain hopeful.

Kalimuendo deal looking 'likely'

Leeds United are closing in on the signing of Paris Saint-Germain forward Arnaud Kalimuendo, according to The Independent.

The report states that a £17 million bid from the Whites is being weighed up by Kalimuendo and PSG, with sources close to the deal describing it as 'likely'.

Reports have stated that new PSG head coach Christophe Galtier has been impressed with Kalimuendo during pre-season, but first-team opportunities for the 20-year-old are still likely to be limited in the French capital.

Leeds are looking to sign a striker this summer, and Kalimuendo now looks like the main target with a deal for AC Milan striker Charles de Ketelaere looking increasingly unlikely.

Millwall 'include option to buy' in Shackleton loan

Millwall have included an option to buy Jamie Shackleton if the Leeds United midfielder delivers during his season-long loan at The Den, according to London News Online.

The 22-year-old has made 78 appearances for Leeds, but he could leave the club next summer, with Millwall structuring the deal so that they can sign him permanently.

Shackleton joined the Championship club this week, following 19-year-old defender Charlie Cresswell in making a temporary switch from the Whites to the Lions. The versatile midfielder also had interest from Blackpool and Reading, but Millwall impressed Leeds with their financial package.
