Leeds United transfer rumours as Jesse Marsch sacking casts 'doubt' over permanent deal for Weston McKennie

Here are your Leeds United transfer rumours for Thursday, February 8.

Jesse Marsch sacking casts 'doubt' over permanent deal for Weston McKennie

Leeds United's chances of signing the on-loan midfielder Weston McKennie on a permanent deal from Juventus are in 'jeopardy', according to Italian outlet Juve Live.

McKennie made his Premier League debut from the bench in a 1-0 defeat against Nottingham Forest at the City Ground on Sunday.

The report adds that although the board wanted the move, Marsch was the major driving force behind McKennie's arrival, and his departure has cast doubt over the midfielder's long-term future.

Juventus are set to be imposed with a heavy points deduction due to alleged financial irregularities and want to sell McKennie to raise much-needed funds.

The United States international joined the Whites on loan until the end of the season on transfer deadline day, with the option of making the deal permanent in the summer.

Raphinha future remains uncertain at Barcelona

Spanish outlet AS have reported that Raphinha could still leave Barcelona if Ousmane Dembele pens a new deal with the club.

Xavi is pushing to extend Dembele's contract at the Camp Nou, which is set to expire in the summer of 2024. Raphinha only joined Barcelona from Leeds last summer but has largely struggled in Spain.

However, the Brazilian international has shone since Dembele was ruled out with a thigh injury at the end of last month.

Raphinha has scored in back-to-back games in victories over Real Betis and Sevilla respectively, and also registered an assist against the latter.

Xavi has insisted on more than one occasion that Raphinha is in his long-term plans. But the report adds that Raphinha has told Xavi he wants to play on the right wing, which is a position that Dembele had a grip hold on until his recent injury setback.

Both players are expected to compete for the same position for the remainder of the season, although there are doubts how long that will last.
