Leeds United transfer rumours as Jesse Marsch ready to return to Salzburg for another signing

Here are the latest Leeds United transfer rumours for Monday, July 25.

Negotiations ongoing for striker target Berisha

Turkish journalist Ömer Çelikbaşlı has reported that negotiations are ongoing between Leeds and Fenarbache for the transfer of forward Mergim Berisha. The Whites have offered £1.7m, but the Turkish giants are looking for a bid closer to £4.5m for the 24-year-old.

A product of the Red Bull Salzburg academy, Berisha went on to make 58 senior appearances for the Austrian giants, of which 52 came under Leeds boss Jesse Marsch, with the striker scoring 23 goals in those matches. The former German Under-21 international featured 31 times across all competitions last season, managing a modest tally of seven goals and three assists.

Gelhardt set for a bumper new contract with Leeds

According to the Sun, Joe Gelhardt is set to receive a large pay rise in his new long-term deal with Leeds. The 20-year-old has already made 22 senior appearances in all competitions for Leeds, scoring two goals and providing two assists in that time.

The young striker is set to sign a new five-year deal with the club that will keep him with the Whites until the end of the 2026/27 season, with his wages set to increase from £16,000 to £25,000, as a reflection of his elevated role and increased importance within the senior side.

Leeds’ £35m Harrison asking price too high for Newcastle

According to The Northern Echo , Newcastle have deemed Leeds' £35million asking price for Jack Harrison to be too high, with the Magpies willing to spend £25millon maximum for the English winger.

Jesse Marsch is keen to keep ahold of one of his key performers from last season, having already lost Kalvin Phillips and Raphinha in this summer window. As a result, the Leeds board continue to insist they will not be lowering their asking price for the 25-year-old.
