Leeds United transfer rumours as Dael Fry linked with Elland Road move

Here are your Leeds United transfer rumours on Tuesday, February 15.

Fry linked with Leeds switch

Leeds United continue to be linked with a move for Middlesbrough defender Dael Fry.

The centre-back has impressed for Boro this season and has been a revelation since Chris Wilder was appointed as the club's new manager back in October.

Fry, who made his Boro debut back in 2014, has been an ever-present over the past four seasons and has been tipped to make the move to the Premier League in the summer.

Although there is a distinct possibility that Boro could be in the top-flight next campaign, Fry might be set to make the switch to Elland Road, according to Football League World.

Wolverhampton Wanderers, West Ham United, Southampton, Burnley, Brighton & Hove Albion and Brentford are also in the race to sign the 24-year-old.

Marcelo Bielsa's side have conceded six goals in their last two matches and could be looking to add another central defender in the summer market.

Spence interest

Djed Spence's performances for Nottingham Forest this season have been nothing short of phenominal and his form has attracted interest from the Premier League.

There's no surprise that both Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur have been keeping tabs on the 21-year-old, who is currently on loan at The Reds from Middlesbrough.

The former Fulham right-back struggled for game time at Boro due to Isaiah Jones' emergence into the side and he decided to sign for Forest in August in search of regular minutes.

It's been a move that has worked to perfection and Leeds United have now reportedly joined the race for Spence, who could be available for around £20million in the summer transfer window.

According to transfer insider Dean Jones, the Whites are interested in signing Spence and he would fit 'perfectly' into Marcelo Bielsa's system.

He told GiveMeSport: "Leeds was the other club I was told, so someone like Leeds, he fits in perfectly, but it comes down to the player and how he sees his ambition."

Meslier targeted by Barcelona

Leeds United were acutely aware that interest in Illan Meslier would not be far away after his debut season in the Premier League and that's exactly why they signed him up to a five-year new deal in the summer.

Now, according to Mundo Deportivo, that interest has come in the form of Spanish giants, Barcelona.

New manager and legendary midfielder Xavi is said to be wanting to move on from Marc Andre Ter Stegen in goal and Meslier is one of the players on Barcelona's list of options.

Leeds would certainly not want to sell the 21-year-old and it would likely take a very high fee to get the Whites to the negotiating table.
