Leeds United transfer rumours as Blackburn Rovers boss drops Ben Brereton Diaz update

Here are the latest Leeds United transfer rumours for Sunday, August 21.

Blackburn boss gives Brereton Diaz update

Blackburn Rovers boss Jon Dahl Tomasson says Leeds-linked Ben Brereton Diaz has not asked to leave the club this summer. The highly-sought after striker has been linked with a host of Premier League clubs, including Leeds.

The Chile international scored 22 goals in the Championship for Blackburn last season, and has started the new campaign in fine form. Everton and AFC Bournemouth are among those reportedly rivalling Leeds for the 23-year-old.

“I think if you look at us and other clubs it is the same issue," Tomasson told Lancs Live. "I have spoken a lot about Ben (Brereton Diaz), which is fine because he is great.

“I am impressed that he is so stable. Let’s see what kind of amount comes, if they are coming.

“No (he has never asked to go). He is only focused on Rovers and not the surroundings.”

Leeds-linked striker's selection snub

Marseille striker Bamba Dieng was once again left out of the Ligue 1 side's squad for their game against Nantes on Saturday evening.

The Irish Daily Star reported earlier this week that the Whites are chasing Dieng, with Fulham cooling their interest in the Senegalese forward. Newcastle United have also been linked with a move for Dieng.

The 22-year-old has been left out of every Marseille squad so far this season, with the forward looking set to move on.
