Leeds United transfer rumours as Bielsa makes January admission and Radrizanni plots next move

Here are the latest Leeds United transfer rumours on Friday, 10 December.

Bielsa makes January admission

Marcelo Bielsa has admitted that Leeds United could make January signings, providing they are better than what is currently in his squad.

Leeds have been heavily hit by injuries so far this season and were hit with another quadruple injury blow this week with Patrick Bamford, Kalvin Phillips, Liam Cooper and Rodrigo Moreno all fresh concerns.

And with the Whites’ squad now set to be heavily depleted over the next few weeks again, Bielsa has claimed in his pre-Chelsea press conference that Leeds could be active.

He said: “With respect to signings: like I always say, any player the club is in conditions to sign better than what we have, it would be welcome, but we all know the difficulties of the winter market.

“It’s difficult to find players that are competing, that don’t have a place in the team they’re in. Normally those competing have a space within their team. It is not simple.”

Radrizzani linked with Sampdoria

Leeds United owner Andrea Radrizanni has reportedly thrown his hat in the ring to takeover at Serie A side Sampdoria.

That is according to Il Secolo XIX, via Sport Witness, who also claim that Radrizanni was interested in Sampdoria prior to his purchase of Leeds.

Radrizanni could be in the market for a new club in the coming years after it was revealed by the Athletic earlier this week that the San Francisco 49ers have an option to complete a full buyout of the club by 2024.

However, given there is a reported clause in the deal that states the 49ers’ deal would be void if he completes a purchase of another club in the next two years, it remains to be seen whether he will pursue that in the near future.

No Liverpool January Raphinha move

Liverpool will not make a January move for Leeds United winger Raphinha, according to the Liverpool Echo.

They claim that the Reds’ scouts will continue to monitor the situation of the Brazilian but won’t be pursuing him next month.

Jurgen Klopp’s side have been linked with Raphinha for a number of months now and were reportedly priced out of a summer move.

The 24-year-old has gone from strength to strength this season, netting six goals and providing one assist.
