Leeds have Blackburn boss on managerial shortlist

Leeds United have placed Jon Dahl Tomasson on their shortlist of managers in line to replace the outgoing Sam Allardyce.

That is according to Football Insider, who claim Tomasson - who just narrowly missed out on the Championship play-offs this season with Blackburn Rovers - has impressed Whites chiefs by playing a similar style of football to former United boss Marcelo Bielsa.

The report claims Leeds' admiration for Tomasson stretches back to his time in charge of Swedish side Malmo, where he won the Swedish Allsvenskan title in two successive seasons, as well as guiding them to the Champions League group stages in 2021.

Blackburn are said to be 'bracing themselves' for an approach, although the likes of Carlos Corberan, Steven Gerrard and Carlos Carvalhal have also been linked with the role in recent days.
