Leeds United transfer rumours: Adama Traore development, Ivan Toney admission

Leeds United are back in Premier League action this weekend as they travel to the champions elect Manchester City on Saturday afternoon.

The Whites have won back-to-back games in the top-flight and are on the hunt for their third successive victory but face the best team in the league at the moment.

For Marcelo Bielsa and his squad, their attention will be fully on ensuring they finish as high in the division as possible but they could have half an eye on the summer.

With the summer transfer window just around the corner, speculation continues to grow on who the Yorkshire club could bring in.

With this being said, we take a look at the very latest Leeds-related transfer rumours and stories from around Europe.

Adama Traore development

According to journalist Duncan Castles, reported Leeds target Adama Traore has been placed on this summer's transfer list by Wolves.

“I’m hearing it’s not just Pedro Neto who is being made available for sale – it’s also Ruben Neves and Adama Traore,” Castles told the Transfer Window podcast.

“[They are] essentially the three most sellable and valuable talents in Wolves’ squad at present, excluding Raul Jimenez.

“Adama is 25, he is contracted until 2023. They want to sell at least one of those for a substantial fee, perhaps more than one, and then reinvest and freshen up the squad.”

The Whites have been linked with the Spaniard in the past, with Eurosport reporting that the club are likely to bid for the 25-year-old in the summer transfer window.

Interest in West Brom goalkeeper

According to The Athletic, Leeds are considering making a move for West Bromwich Albion goalkeeper Sam Johnstone, with Kiko Casilla expected to leave Elland Road.

Johnstone has been in fine form for the Baggies this season, despite Sam Allardyce's side being 19th in the Premier League table.

The report notes that the ex-Manchester United shot-stopper sees his deal at the Hawthorns expire next summer, meaning the Midlands club could seek a fee in the upcoming transfer window.

If the rumours are to be believed, then the West Brom man could prove an excellent rival to Illan Meslier.

Toney responds to transfer links

Ivan Toney is flattered by transfer links to the likes of Leeds, but remains focused on helping Brentford earn promotion to the Premier League.

Toney has been in red-hot form for the Bees this season - bagging himself 28 goals in 42 appearances in all competitions, a return that has reportedly attracted interest from the Whites, Arsenal, Everton and Wolves.

Speaking to FourFourTwo , the striker said: "It was flattering, but I’m a Brentford player. You read things, but I don’t look too deeply into it.

"I have to keep doing what I can to get Brentford promoted, and then I won’t have to worry about other clubs so-called buying me."
