Leeds United transfer rumours: £10m Liverpool boost as Ezgjan Alioski agent offers update

Leeds United are still waiting on their first summer signing.

The Whites are hoping to bring in some fresh faces for the new campaign to bolster Marcelo Bielsa's squad, which kicks off on August 14, which is around six weeks away.

Euro 2020 has no doubt slowed down the negotiating process, with players away from their clubs and focussing on international football.

Nonetheless, that hasn't stopped the rumour mill from whirring in the background as names are linked with moves to Elland Road each day.

With that in mind, LeedsLive has compiled a round-up of the latest gossip from across the globe.

Williams on Leeds' radar

Neco Williams is expected to leave Liverpool this summer after finding first-team opportunities limited.

The Welsh defender, who is away with the national team at Euro 2020, has been linked with a £10million move to Leeds United amongst other Premier League clubs.

Our sister title, the Liverpool Echo, report that Williams is targetting a move away from Anfield when he returns from this summer's tournament, in a bid to play regular first-team football.

Alioski agent ends CSKA rumours

Ezgjan Alioski's agent has rebuffed reports linking the Leeds United wing-back with a move to CSKA Moscow.

The Whites' left-back is out of contract at Elland Road at the end of June and could leave on a free transfer.

Leeds have offered fresh terms to the North Macedonia defender, who will now be able to focus on his future after his side crashed out of Euro 2020 on Monday night.

Over the weekend, Turkish outlet Fanatik reported that CSKA Moscow were set to offer the 27-year-old €2.5million a season to sign on in Russia.

However, his representatives has confirmed this is not true, ruling out a move to the Russian side, in a boost to Leeds.

“The information is incorrect,” agent Dino Lamberti told Sport24.

“CSKA did not contact me about Ezgjan’s transfer.”

Noel Whelan tips Phillips to stay

Noel Whelan believes Kalvin Phillips will remain a Leeds United player this summer after being impressed by the club's ambition.

“I think right now he’s there for the foreseeable future,” he told Football Insider.

“We’re looking to build. Last season we had a very good first season back in the Premier League with a couple of the new signings coming good at the end of the season.

“There might be more to come with a bit more fitness behind them and they now look like a side that’s going to go on and build again.

“I think he’s probably excited by the prospect of what’s to come in terms of the renovation of the ground and players coming in.

“The club are spending money to ensure every bit of the infrastructure is world-class. You’ve got world-class space because it is going to be exciting with the investment that’s going in."
