Leeds United transfer news: Whites target Rodrigo De Paul move, Ryan Kent update, Douglas eyed

It’s perhaps the biggest summer in recent Leeds United history, as they prepare for life back in the Premier League.

The last time that the Whites were in the top-flight, it was called the Premiership, that’s how long it’s been.

Now, under the tutelage of Marcelo Bielsa, they built a team that won the Championship in explosive fashion, but they are aware that they may need to strengthen their squad in order to maintain Premier League football.

With that being said, we’re taking a look at the very latest Leeds-related transfer rumours from around the world.

Rodrigo De Paul wanted

Udinese midfielder Rodrigo De Paul is wanted by Leeds as the club prepare to continue their summer spending spree.

According to a report from The Telegraph, the 26-year-old is a player Bielsa believes can add quality to his squad as a player to unlock defences.

The report goes on to add that he is expected to cost at least £25m as he has a long-term contract with his Italian club.

Kent transfer in trouble

Leeds' bid to sign Rangers winger Ryan Kent is “in trouble”, according to reporter Alan Nixon.

The Sun scribe has suggested that fears over losing fellow Ibrox star Alfredo Morelos have made Steven Gerrard even more resolute in his determination to hang on to the 23-year-old.

Writing in a piece for the print edition of The Sun on Sunday, he said: “ Leeds bid for Ryan Kent is in trouble as Rangers boss Steven Gerrard fears losing Alfredo Morelos.

“Gers will not let Kent go with unsettled striker Morelos likely to move soon”.

Celtic eye Douglas

According to reports from the Daily Mail, Celtic are looking to sign Leeds defender Barry Douglas this summer.

The report goes on to add that the Scottish champions have held talks over a possible deal for the 30-year-old left-back.

However, it remains to be seen whether Douglas would want to leave Leeds ahead of their return to the Premier League.
