With the final international break behind us, attention would usually be shifting to the summer transfer market.
Leeds United find themselves in a situation where they don’t know which league they’ll be in next season yet they can’t afford to stand idle in the transfer market.
Victor Orta and his side will be hard at work preparing for the opening of the summer transfer window - whatever division Leeds find themselves in next season.
And as night follows day, transfer rumours are starting to gather pace.
Here’s a round up of some of the latest names to be linked with a move to Leeds United.
Nick Powell
It’s the transfer story that won’t go away. Wigan Athletic striker Nick Powell has been linked with Leeds several times over the years but with his contract due to run out this summer could the former Manchester United man be eyeing up a move to Elland Road?
Powell has made 23 appearances for Wigan this season, scoring five goals and notching up six assists. He missed the whole of December, January and half of February with hamstring troubles.
The 25-year-old came through the youth ranks at Crewe Alexandra before signing for Manchester United at the age of 18. He made only three appearances for the Old Trafford side and had loan spells at Wigan, Leicester City and Hull City.
According to Football Insider, Leeds are in the chase for him, alongside the likes of Rangers, Celtic and RB Leipzig.
Leeds fans should get a chance to see him in action at Elland Road when Leeds take on Wigan on Good Friday (April 19).
Matt Clarke
Another name to be linked with a potential move to Leeds United is Portsmouth defender Matt Clarke.
The 22-year-old has appeared 39 times in the league for Portsmouth this season, scoring two goals, and when the summer comes around he will be entering the final year of his contract with Portsmouth.
Clarke came through the youth system at Ipswich before moving to Portsmouth, initially on loan, in 2015. The move was made permanent in 2016.
The Times report that Leeds are monitoring him along with Stoke City. Portsmouth are currently sitting third in League One, five points adrift of the automatic promotion places and they may find it tough to hang on to Clarke if they miss out on promotion to the Championship.

Yannick Bolasie
Everton’s Yannick Bolasie is another linked with an Elland Road move, with TEAMtalk claiming he is 'high on their list'.
Bolasie signed for Everton for £28 million from Crystal Palace in the summer of 2016 but his time on Merseyside has been hampered by injury. He spent the first half of this season at Aston Villa on what was supposed to be a season-long loan but it was cut short early in January. The winger is currently rediscovering his form at Anderlecht in the Belgian Jupiler Pro League where he has scored four goals in seven appearances.
The 29-year-old has 33 caps for DR Congo and has scored nine goals for his country.
Stefan Johansen
It’s been reported by Football Insider that Leeds are planning a swoop for Premier League Fulham’s Stefan Johansen. The 28-year-old Norwegian international, who is currently on loan at West Bromwich Albion, will be out of contract this summer.
Johansen came through the ranks at Norwegian club Bodø/Glimt and spent two-and-a-half years at Celtic before moving to Fulham where he was an instrumental part of the team that won promotion out of the Championship.
The midfielder has made 46 appearances for his country, scoring five goals.
