Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos has been linked with a move away from Glasgow in January, and Leeds United are one of the clubs in the running for him according to the bookmakers.
The Colombian striker finished top scorer in the Scottish Premiership last season, and he’s in the running to win the accolade again. Only his team-mate Jermain Defoe has scored more than his nine-goal tally so far this season.
He hit the headlines for the wrong reasons last year as he was sent off five times for Rangers.
That disciplinary record looked to have put off potential suitors in the summer, but it appears he’s worked on that aspect of his game and has yet to be dismissed this season, raising the possibility of a move elsewhere.
Aston Villa are the favourites to sign him, according to odds available on SkyBet, with Crystal Palace, Everton, LA Galaxy, Atletico Madrid and Bordeaux ahead of the Whites in the running.
Marcelo Bielsa’s Whites are priced at 16/1 to land his signature in the winter window, but it should be noted no sources linked to either club have suggested a move is in the offing.
There’s also been little to no suggestion Leeds are willing to pay any kind of considerable fee in January, as director of football Victor Orta when the transfer window reopens.
