Leeds United told they have a major problem if they don't beat Norwich City

Alan McInally believes Sunday’s clash with Norwich City will be a telling indicator of how Leeds United’s season could pan out.

The Whites have won just once in their opening nine Premier League matches so far this season and sit 17th in the table, just one place above the relegation zone.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side have struggled to replicate the form they produced on a regular basis, particularly in the attacking areas of the field.

At this stage last season, Leeds had already scored 14 league goals, six more than they have managed in that same time frame this term.

Wingers Jack Harrison and Daniel James are yet to produce a goal contribution so far this campaign; even Helder Costa had already managed three by this point.

Patrick Bamford is another whose numbers aren’t of the levels of last year, although he has missed half of the season due to an ongoing ankle injury.

Speaking on Footy Accumulators' Group Chat, McInally thinks that Bamford’s absence has been a big miss for Leeds and also claimed defeat at Carrow Road could cast a huge doubt over their Premier League status.

He said: “I think you can put it down to that, having said that, you expect that they should have a little bit more, Leeds.

“What they did last year, they didn’t just rely on Patrick Bamford, conceding goals this season has not been good.

“And the game on Sunday is absolutely huge, if they don’t go to Norwich and get a result, then I genuinely think there is a problem, a genuine problem.

“They will have to be hugely more active in the market in January than they were the previous January. “
