Leeds United told Nottingham Forest are their relegation rivals with Everton tipped to win twice

Leeds United have the 'trickier' final-day fixture and Premier League survival will come down to themselves and Nottingham Forest. That is the view of former Whites' number one Paul Robinson, who also reckons Leicester City's relegation will likely be confirmed on Monday night.

Sam Allardyce's side currently sit a point adrift of safety with just two matches remaining ahead of their trip to face West Ham on Sunday. The Whites know that defeat at the London Stadium, combined with results elsewhere, could seal their demotion to the Championship with a game to spare.

Allardyce has previously stressed the need to take the fight to the final day, with Tottenham the visitors to Elland Road on May 28. Robinson believes Everton will pull clear of the fight with two victories, and fears the Whites face the tougher final fixture in comparison to Nottingham Forest's trip to Crystal Palace.

He told Betfred: "Leicester City were so poor against Liverpool last week. I was at the game in a working capacity and when speaking to the staff and the supporters, the first thing you notice is how everybody’s resigned to relegation, even before the game kicked off.

"Dean Smith is a former centre-back, John Terry is a former centre-back and the biggest problem at Leicester is shipping goals. They’ve not been able to stop the leak.

“For the first 20 minutes of the Liverpool game, Leicester were on the front foot and pressing them. As soon as they conceded a goal, it just went. There was no backbone, no spine and no leaders on the pitch.

“I was worried for Leicester before that game and now I’m resigned to them being relegated, like their fans are. Newcastle United need one win to qualify for next season’s Champions League and I believe they will get it against Leicester and I believe the results on Saturday and Sunday could relegate Leicester. I think Newcastle United can qualify for the Champions League and Leicester City can be relegated on Monday night. I really do.

“I believe it’s going down to the final game of the season for the other teams fighting against the drop. Leeds United have the trickier fixture on the final day, but you don’t know which Tottenham is going to turn up.

"Southampton are gone, I think Leicester are done and I believe it’s between Leeds United and Nottingham Forest. I think Everton will get out of it and win their next two games, but I could also see Nottingham Forest getting something out of their home game with Arsenal too.”
