Danny Mills believes the arrival of Rodrigo Moreno will be vital to Leeds United's hopes of a successful season.
The Spaniard arrived at Elland Road in a club-record deal this summer from Valencia.
Having immediately travelled to link up the national team, Rodrigo was used from the bench during Leeds' 4-3 defeat to Liverpool at Anfield on the opening weekend of the Premier League season.
Marcelo Bielsa's faith in Patrick Bamford, who opened his account for the season on Merseyside, was unrivalled last season as Leeds claimed the Championship title.
Rodrigo's arrival will add further competition for Bamford, whilst his tactical flexibility will also offer Bielsa the chance to field both forward in the same XI.
With Rodrigo adding plenty of pedigree and goal-scoring talent to Leeds attack, Mills believes the record-buy will be crucial to their hopes this season.
"Rodrigo will be vital for Leeds United this season," Mills told GentigBet.
"Patrick Bamford got his goal against Liverpool, he works incredibly hard, Bielsa has an awful lot of faith in him but there were times last season that he did miss some chances.
"You don't get that many chances in the Premier League and you've got to be ultra-clinical. That's why they brought Rodrigo in for that.
"He can play off the right, off the left, can play down the middle, he can even play alongside Patrick Bamford. But the extra firepower he will bring will be absolutely vital."
