Leeds United to return for ex-Sunderland Dutch international, Everton and Wolves eye starlet and Aston Villa want Brentford star

Here is the latest transfer gossip from the Championship.

Leeds plotting Turkey raid

Leeds United are keen on signing former Sunderland Jeremain Lens.

The Elland Road side have shown interest in the Besiktas man before.

Now Fotomac report that they will reignite their interest.

The Dutch winger is set to leave Turkey this summer, with an issue over his pay said to be the root cause of his discontent.

Leeds wanted him in January but no deal materialised - but Marcelo Bielsa could return at the end of the season.

Everton, Wolves and Brighton look at starlet

Bolton youngster Luca Connell is attracting interest from the Premier League.

Trotters boss Phil Parkinson has provided an update on the youngster's future.

He has yet to sign a professional contract - mainly down to the club's uncertain ownership issue.

“The last dialogue I had with Luca’s agent he said if the club got new ownership and it was in a stable position that Luca and his family would love him to sit down and talk to us about a contract,” Parkinson said.

“But we haven’t been able to get to that situation and so you can probably understand them sitting back and waiting.”

Smith wants reunion

Aston Villa manager Dean Smith wants to be reunited with Brentford striker Neil Maupay, should they secure promotion this season.

The 22-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to Villa Park, to work with former boss Smith.

According to the ExaminerLive, Villa remain firmly in the mix for the Frenchman’s signature, alongside Huddersfield Town and Middlesbrough.

Tractors Boys keen on striker

Ipswich Town have been linked with Tranmere Rovers striker James Norwood.

The League Two top scorer is out of contract this summer and could be set to spearhead the Tractor Boys’ promotion campaign next season.

The 28-year-old has also attracted interested from Burton Albion and Fleetwood Town, according to HTIC reports.

Rhodes to nowhere?

Sheffield Wednesday manager Steve Bruce has admitted that Jordan Rhodes’ long-term future remains up in the air.

The Owls record buy has spent the season on loan at Norwich City but has found his game time limited due to Teemu Pukki’s goal-scoring exploits.

With Wednesday looking to cut their cloth further this summer, Bruce conceded Rhodes’ future remains unclear and confirmed the club will sit down with the Canaries to discuss their plans for the 29-year-old.
