Leeds United are ready to make an offer to Manchester United winger Dan James, according to reports.
James signed for United last summer, completing an £18 million move from Swansea City after impressing at the Liberty Stadium.
But, after initially impressing with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men, the 22-year-old found himself mainly used as a late substitute following the return of football after lockdown.
James was an unused sub in the last three Premier League games as the Red Devils secured Champions League football. He was taken off at half-time in Man United’s 3-1 defeat to Crystal Palace this weekend.
That has led to speculation that the player’s future could lie away from Old Trafford, with the Sun now reporting that Leeds United are ready to make their move.
The Whites were close to sealing a move for the winger in 2018, but Swansea pulled the plug in the final stages.
The report claims that Leeds believe that a bid of around £12 million plus add-ons would be enough to convince United to sell this season.
Any potential deal may rely on Jadon Sancho arriving at Old Trafford this summer.
James has scored two goals in 10 senior international appearances for Wales since making his debut in 2018.
He played the full 90 minutes of both of Wales’ UEFA Nations League games against Finland and Bulgaria earlier this month.
