Leeds United tipped to beat Rangers as Marcelo Bielsa makes Liverpool transfer step

Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa took a watching brief of Liverpool attacker Ryan Kent at the weekend.

Bielsa was in attendance as the Reds faced Bradford City at Valley Parade before the Leeds manager headed to join his side's pre-season tour of Australia.

Kent enjoyed an excellent season on loan at Rangers under Steven Gerrard last term and they are eager to bring him back for a second loan spell.

The 22-year-old has been included in Jurgen Klopp's pre-season squad for the US but he will be allowed to leave on loan again to aid his development.

Kent would have impressed Bielsa as he had a hand in two goals as Liverpool won 3-1 over Bradford and Leeds could now firm up their long-term interest in the attacker.

Former Leeds man Noel Whelan believes that the Whites boss even had time to speak with Jurgen Klopp about the youngster following the game.

He told Football Insider: "Bielsa was probably at Bradford looking at Ryan Kent.

"There’s no reason for him to go there rather than Australia unless it was beneficial for him.

"Ryan Kent has been spoken about before. I think Bielsa has met with Jurgen Klopp after the game.

"If there is interest and conversations going on it, it is worth talking with his manager."
