Leeds United 'will finish in the top five' in the Championship this season, according to Western Sydney Wanderers boss Markus Babbel following their encounter on Saturday.
The Whites capped off their trip to Australia with a 2-1 win over the A-League outfit at Western Sydney Stadium in Parramatta, with a stunning Pablo Hernandez solo goal sealing victory in injury time.
Reflecting on the match, which saw Leeds become the first visitors to Sydney's new home ground since it opened earlier this year, former Bayern Munich and Liverpool favourite Babbel hailed Marcelo Bielsa's side for their performance while championing his own team's efforts, tipping his visitors for a flying 2019-20 campaign.
"It was a fantastic test for us and a great experience for the boys," the 46-year-old told the media following the match.
"I saw many good things from us, of course, Leeds are a good side. I think they will definitely finish in the first five teams in the Championship.
"The first 30 minutes, they had one chance and scored. We had two chances and couldn’t score.
"We tried to play and tried to create chances, of course against a team like that you can’t create 100 chances. But also in the second half, we had two-three chances and it was a great experience for the boys.”
United will return to Elland Road to begin preparations ahead of their opening match away to Bristol City on August 4, before they play their first home game six days later against Nottingham Forest on August 10.
