Leeds United team news as Jesse Marsch resists urge to tinker against Brighton

Jesse Marsch has named an unchanged Leeds United Premier League line-up for this afternoon’s clash against Brighton and Hove Albion at the Amex Stadium. The Whites stunned Chelsea to pick up a 3-0 win last time out in the league and the head coach has opted not to tinker with his starting XI.

That means Robin Koch and Diego Llorente will partner each other in the middle of defence with captain Liam Cooper missing out once more. Cooper made his return from an Achilles injury in midweek as Leeds played Barnsley in the Carabao Cup at Elland Road, picking up 45 minutes before being replaced at half-time, but he will not be involved against the Seagulls.

Patrick Bamford misses out, too, as he continues to recover from the groin injury he picked up against Southampton a fortnight ago. Rodrigo captains the side once more and he’ll be looking to consolidate his position at the top of the league’s goal scoring charts.

The striker has scored four times in the first three Premier League games and he’s flying high in confidence this afternoon. Luis Sinisterra will be keen to pick up more minutes off the bench. The Colombia international starred on his first start in midweek and he’ll be keen to put pressure on starters Dan James and Jack Harrison.

Leeds: Illan Meslier; Rasmus Kristensen, Robin Koch, Diego Llorente, Pascal Struijk; Marc Roca, Tyler Adams; Dan James, Brenden Aaronson, Jack Harrison; Rodrigo.

Bench: Kristoffer Klaesson, Leo Hjelde, Cody Drameh, Luis Sinisterra, Adam Forshaw, Sam Greenwood, Joe Gelhardt, Crysencio Summerville, Mateusz Klich.
