Leeds United target Kalvin Phillips replacement, West Brom striker linked with £14m move - Championship rumours

For most Championship clubs pre-season is firmly underway, as players dust away the cobwebs from the seven-week closed season.

The 2019/20 season is under five weeks away, with clubs scrambling to get their business complete before the opening matches on August 3.

The flurry of transfer activity has increased over the last week, with players and managers returning from their summer breaks.

Between now and the window’s end, there is bound to be a raft of business as clubs bid to bolster their squad for the new season.

Here’s all the latest news and rumours from England’s second tier.

West Brom striker Salomon Rondon could be on his way to West Ham this summer.

The Hammers are looking for an alternative upfront, after Marko Arnautovic announced he’s looking to leave the club.

The Baggies are resigned to losing Rondon this summer and with Wolves yet to complete a deal for the Venezuelan forward, West Ham are looking to capitalise.

As a result, Football Insider believe the striker could head to the London Stadium for around £14m.

Leeds United are in the race for Dinamo Zagreb midfielder Ivan Sunjic, according to the Daily Mail.

With Aston Villa pursuing the signature of Kalvin Phillips, Marcelo Bielsa has set his sights on the Under-21 Croatian holder to fill his role.

However, it would take around a £3.5m fee to acquire the youngsters signature, so it’s hard to see a move materialising, unless Phillips does depart Elland Road.

Sheffield Wednesday, Derby County, Bristol City, Hull City and Luton Town are all set to make a push for Coventry City defender Jordan Willis.

The defender has officially left the Sky Blues following his expiry of his contract.

Willis was offered a new deal at the League One club, but termed it down in a bid to establish himself in the Championship

Now, as a free transfer, The72 are reporting that the quintet of second-tier clubs will offer the 24-year-old a contract.
