Leeds United supporters send Sunderland 'valuable' message after Joe Gelhardt loan confirmation

Leeds United fans have wished striker Joe Gelhardt a happy loan move after the 20-year-old signed a deal with Championship side Sunderland which will see him play at the Stadium of Light until the end of the season.

Gelhardt joins Cody Drameh as another young Whites player who has left Thorp Arch this week in search of more consistent senior team minutes after falling down Jesse Marsch's pecking order.

The move to the Black Cats doesn't mean he won't have a future under Marsch however, with the club acknowledging in a statement posted to its website that he'll be in their 'long-term plans'.
